Withdrawals…

So, classes started, and between classes, homework, and not being a complete recluse, I have absolutely no free time. I’m attempting to crochet my friend a bag to hold her nail polishes for her birthday (which is TOMORROW) and I’m hoping I can finish it on time. *crosses fingers* Hopefully, as I get into the swing of things, I’ll be able to find more time to make stuff.

But despite my lack of time to knit, I’ve been having fun making other things… like friends! It’s kind of crazy how many new people I’ve met in the last two weeks. I didn’t think I was bad with names before, but it’s been so hard to keep everyone straight. Especially when you never know if you are even going to see some of these people again. I really need a mental camera–then I can take a picture of the person’s face and attach a name tag.

Anyways, I will try to get more done on that darn Dalek… I honestly haven’t touched it in about two weeks. I don’t even remember where I am in the project… it’s my new priority.

So little time…

Well, let’s just say that the end of senior year has been complete insanity. I had no idea how busy it was going to be!! I just got back from orientation at UC San Diego (yay Revelle!!) and realized I haven’t posted in way too long. I’ve been running around like nobody’s business, so my knitting time has been severely limited. I made a cupcake for a friend’s birthday, and I’m working on a green dragon, but other than that, not much has happened. I have a picture that shows most of the dragons I’ve made so far:

I’ve kept at least one of each color, so I can post a photo once I’ve finished a green one as well. I also want to try a black one… maybe I should call it Shruikan?

Anyways, I’m hoping that now that it’s SUMMER(!!!!) I will have at least a bit more free time. Not only for crocheting, but also reading. I have an extensive list I would love to put a dent in, and I’m starting a new book club. Next on my Christmas list… time turner!!

So many hats!!

Well, it has been way too long. I thought I would be less busy without AP English, but I have been thoroughly enjoying my newfound free time-reading, knitting, sleeping.
Anyways, I’ll update you guys slowly.

For today- BEANIES!! I have been crocheting beanies for soldiers overseas non-stop. (Beanies make a great travel project!) Remember me posting about it earlier? If not, here’s a link to the post.

Anyways, here’s a photo of some of the hats I’ve made so far:

SO Scarves and Stitch London

I am thrilled to announce that my knitting group is ready to send off our scarves!! We’ve collected 12, and they’re all ready to go. We just need to decide on a place to send them, and they’re off!! :D I thought this day would never come.
On the other hand, my lovely homework has been keeping my knitting time to a minimum. I’ve been doing a lot of small boring stuff, nothing exciting. Well, except for one thing…
I got the book Stitch London by Lauren O’Farrell!!! I am sooo excited to start knitting up little trinkets for all my friends. They are adorable!!!
Speaking of adorable, I also purchased a MochiMochi pattern–the sushi bar. I couldn’t resist!! So now I have many things to knit, and no time. :/ But, there are only two more weeks in the semester (eeek!!!) and I should have more time next semester. *crosses fingers*
I am also hoping to have a new pattern up on Etsy soon… I hope you like it!!

That time of year…

Well, it is busy season again!! With AP English (2/3 hrs hw a night) and Sylvia (rehearsals every day) and college applications just turned in and the ACT on Saturday and friends and Christmas coming up, I’ve been slightly swamped. It’s hard to not become overwhelmed. Knitting usually helps. ^_^
I am proud to say that I am making my gifts already, and have at least 85% planned out. I feel so accomplished…
Well, I am still making flower phone charms. They look pretty cool, and I can’t wait to sell them at exhibition day. But that win’t be for a few months…
Hope your holiday planning is going well. Until next time.. <3

PHONE CHARMS!!!

MY PHONE CHARMS CAME!!! It took awhile, but they were coming from a long way away. I have been waiting for awhile, but they are finally here, so I’m stoked. I have a gazillion hours of homework, so it will be awhile, but I’m looking forwards to creating some awesome phone charms for Etsy. I’M SO FREAKING EXCITED!!!!! I will post again with photos and a link to the listing. Don’t hold your breath though, because it’ll be at least 3-4 days, and you will need oxygen to your brain before then. I’ll keep you posted on my progress.
Another super exciting tidbit-it’s more than a week before Halloween, and I’ve got my costume all figured out. So proud of myself. I’m going to be Emily the Strange, who is awesome. I’ll post a photo for people who don’t know who she is, and for people who do know who she is but want to see a picture anyways. So, if you don’t have your costume yet, I’m sending you good luck. :D

Edit: WordPress app is being funny and not letting me post a photo. :( I suppose you can Google “Emily the Strange” until I figure this out. Sorry for the inconvenience. <3

Vacation!!

Well, I have had very little time to do much knitting lately. I have started an armadillo, inspired by Rango. Here’s the pattern (it’s not mine): http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/don-the-dillo-knit-armadillo . I am super excited to see how he comes out!!
In other news, I have been having a blast with my family. My Yiayia showed me how to make tiganopitas last night–SO DELICIOUS!! (They are basically crispy pancake you fry and put feta/parmesan on. How can you go wrong?) I promise, once I have time to type up all these recipes, I will share. But for now, I am enjoying every second with my Yiayia and cousins and aunt and uncle. My cousins and I are now pretty obsessed with the smurf village game. It’s addictive!!
Anyways, it’s late, or early, and I’m tired. おやすみなさい!!
